ABOUT US

Houstonians Bryan and Beth Chapline purchased The Grand Fayette Hotel in April 2025. Driven by local roots and a modern vision of country hospitality (both her grandfather and great grandfather, Edward and Thomas Hruska, served as Justices of
Fayetteville, and Edward was also Mayor), their project not only includes restoration, but responsible
preservation, while staying true to the history of the property. A redesigned lobby flows into a newly added full bar and comfortable furnishings, original art and sitting areas.

Seven upstairs bedrooms and two downstairs suites have been completely revamped to include ensuite bathrooms and Smart TVs. Guests will enjoy a new private upstairs lobby with game tables and access to the wide, welcoming balconies, and a lovely courtyard where they might enjoy a glass of wine or a meal.

With the addition of a new downstairs full bar, what was once the Moravian Gallery dining area is now Hugo’s 1876 Restaurant and Bar. Chefs George Valtasaros and his wife, Kathy, became the proprietors of the Wine Bar at the Grand Fayette Hotel in 2017, and have since served patrons from not only Houston, Austin and surrounding areas, but from around the world. We welcome Chefs George and Kathy as the new Managers of the Grand Fayette Hotel and Hugo’s
1876 Restaurant and Bar.
